Formal requirements

Admission as a doctoral researcher (PhD student) by the Faculty of Natural Sciences

Each member of GRK1798 has to be admitted as a doctoral researcher (PhD student) by the Faculty of Natural Sciences. This formal step is independent of and has to be done in addition to the GRK1798 admission.

Each GRK1798 member has to make sure to apply for admission as a doctoral researcher (PhD student) by the Faculty of Natural Sciences as quickly as possible after his acceptance by the GRK. An overview of the procedure can be found here. Admission is granted by the Faculty Council (Fakultätsrat) and ensures legal security for doctoral researchers.

Admission includes the conclusion of an agreement of supervision (Betreuungsvereinbarung) according to DFG guidelines and necessitates a short project overview (Projektskizze) including a work and time schedule that should be drafted and subsequently discussed with the team of supervisors. Note that this is only a short version of the much more elaborated doctoral research proposal that has to be defended in the GRK research seminar.

Enrolling as a doctoral researcher (PhD student) at Leibniz Universität Hannover

Upon acceptance, each GRK1798 member has to enroll as a doctoral researcher (PhD student) at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
